During the inauguration of the academic year at the Faculty of Engineering of Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Rodrigo González, founder and CEO of Metaverso Ltda, was appointed as an advisory council member of the faculty. The appointment aims to establish effective communication between the industry and society, ensuring that education and research in engineering align with the needs and trends of the industry, the public sector, and the private sector, in connection with people.

Under the premise of the faculty's focus on the challenge of Innovation for Sustainable Development, Nancy Pérez, the president of the Advisory Council of the faculty and president of the Lithium Branch of ENAMI (Empresa Nacional de Minería), introduced the advisors responsible for nourishing and guiding the strategic planning of the faculty in the following areas of action:

1. Provide relevant information about national and international trends and developments in the discipline.

2. Advise on research and project development, enabling academics and students to participate in projects with practical and relevant applications for society.

3. Advise on the development of study plans and programs to ensure that students are learning the necessary skills and knowledge for success in the industry.

4. Facilitate internship and professional practice opportunities for students to gain practical experience and connect with potential employers.

5. Provide feedback on the performance and skills of graduates from the faculty to continuously improve the study programs.

After various presentations by entrepreneurs, companies, and innovations at Metro Santiago's Demo Day, Minverso's project, Metaversal Training, was selected to move on to the next stage where they will further develop the proposal in collaboration with Metro.

The initiatives to continue enhancing were chosen based on the evaluation by the Demo Day Committee and the votes from the attendees of the presentations, all as part of an activity focused on developing projects that can take advantage of three areas of opportunity for the company: security, new business ventures, and improving the user experience, and incorporating them into the innovation ecosystem of Metro Santiago.

This version of Demo Day is the first event of its kind in history, calling upon entrepreneurs, companies, and other entities to present projects and innovations that can transform experiences.

FLSmidth, the multinational technology company working hand in hand with Minverso, unveiled the new update of its flowsheet in the metaverse at Expomin 2023, showcasing an extensive exhibition of machinery for the mining industry.

"Mining equipment is of such magnitude that it is impossible to display them at a mining fair, and through the metaverse, we found a way to showcase our entire flowsheet, regardless of the physical location of the person. This allows us to present all our innovations," comments Nathalia González, Marketing and Communications Manager at FLSmidth, who has showcased the company's metaverse at various international mining fairs, such as Perumin last year.

During the launch, which provided an opportunity for fair attendees to experience the company's metaversal environment, the update of different zones and equipment for mining offered by the Danish company was showcased, including grinding, pumps, flotation, hydrocyclones, HPGR, among others.

The initial use of this technology, primarily focused on exhibition at fairs, expanded to include digitization solutions and sustainable productivity, which is a differentiating factor for FLSmidth. It addresses how customers can increase their productivity with minimal impact on the environment. "This tool has also been applied in areas such as training, remote sales, and more. The number of benefits and scenarios in which it can be used is countless," concludes Nathalia.

The expansion of Minverso within FLSmidth is beginning to materialize with the upcoming first global marketing meeting of the company within the metaverse, aiming to expand its virtual exhibitions to more global fairs.
